I am sure that those pretty looking apple cakes were delicious with the sour cream and all; brown sugar is also something that makes for that extra "oomph" in baked stuff, something sour like sour cream/buttermilk, brown sugar and some alcohol maybe are my favourites in baking :) And the cakes llok perfect for an afternoon gathering.
